Robert McElhone

Although Roberts’s family background is from the Hotel industry his Real Estate career started in 1977 at Bondi Beach. Originally he worked in property management and covered many various areas such as Kings Cross, Paddington and Mosman. Major clients included the Australian Jockey Club and Stocklands. Robert started in residential sales in 1986 at Bondi Junction and quickly established himself by selling $12million worth of property in one financial year. In 1988 he became a Justice of the Peace. Robert moved in 1989 to the Sydney CBD to work for Baillieu Knight Frank and gained invaluable experience in Commercial Investment Sales. At this time he was involved in many portfolio leaseback investment sales for clients such as ANZ and Bob Jane T-Marts. In 1990 he purchased a real estate office in Kensington and successfully steered it to the number 4 office of that group in Sydney in 1992. In 1997 he expanded and purchased another office in Alexandria. This gave him the opportunity to expand his skills as an auctioneer and to be involved in the sale of both residential and commercial property. It was during this time that Robert sold a development site in Botany for in excess of $7 million. Roberts experience as an auctioneer made him one of only five auctioneers chosen exclusively to perform the 500 auctions of the Countdown pieces celebrating the number of days to the opening of the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Robert continues to auction properties all over Sydney and is involved with a number of charity auctions and fundraising events. With over 38 years experience Robert’s knowledge and negotiation skills are exceptional.
